Here is
I

And Kate's

I have more details (text) on my Explorations blog.
Plus more photos behind the cut.
More photos . . . .
A fuzzy booth. Seriously, this booth was covered with long furry fabric, like what stuffed animals are made out of.

This was a cute French Booth from the back side. I love the windows and the books.

And from the front.

The Peachtree booth.

HarperCollins booth--one of the very big ones.

It was in "prime" real estate, an excellent location. I hope there was a lot of interest.
I have a photo of the publisher's booth too--it was a good sized one, with maybe 10 tables or so.

It is a working fair, with everyone scrambling to buy and sell international rights. And show off their books to other publishers and agents and book scouts. This is the biggest book trade fair worldwide.
There were a lot of American publishers.
The Bologna fair will be interesting, because it is all children's books. I'm excited to see how it. Only about 1600 exhibitors (mostly publishers) show at that fair, but that is still a lot.

I love seeing these photos. It made me want to get on a plane next year to Germany. Book fairs/conferences/expos are just SO much fun.

It was cool to see books from all over the world.

Btw, my kids and I are (maybe) visiting Europe next summer. If it comes together, we'll fly into London and out of Rome. We aren't coming to Germany, but if you can swing to Paris for a quick :) trip . . . ?? Maybe we can figure out something. I'd love to finally meet.

There was no book on the table--just sheets and sheets of paper.
I didn't see your book there on Saturday afternoon--and all the other books were still there face out. So they either gave it to an interested party or something.
I don't really know the way the system works.

I'll be traveling for a bit next summer.
If you email me, we can talk, and look at the possibility (which would be SO cool) and dates, when I'll be around.
Are you sure you can't come to Germany? Oh well. I think I'm 4 hours away from Paris with the ICE train.
